Warwick at City Center Newport News

Info Box

Warwick @ City Center Rotary Club We are merged and ready to serve. The Warwick Rotary Club, chartered in 1945, and the City Center Rotary Club, chartered in 2008, have joined together to serve our community in a dedicated and dynamic ‘call to service’. From helping literacy to avoiding hunger to bridging communities, our Rotary Club has enjoyed over 70 years of distinguished service to the ideals of Rotary.

We are the founding fathers of the Virginia Living Museum; a venue we have supported through various upgrades and construction projects since 1966. It’s also where we meet weekly to enjoy terrific speakers, warm fellowship, and a robust breakfast. Another long term service project that we have supported since 1986 is Rotary International’s global campaign to eradicate the dreaded disease…. Polio. Over the years, Warwick at City Center has pledged well over $100,000 in support of our PolioPlus effort. As we ‘drop to zero’, Rotarians look forward to the elimination of Polio from every country in the world.

Our service projects impact both our local and global community. From cleaning up a bus stop in Newport News, to reading to pre-school kids at Watkins Early Childhood Center, to packaging meals for Stop Hunger Now, to constructing an outdoor exhibit at the Virginia Living Museum, to building bridges in Honduras and Nicaragua, we are never far from serving the needs of our community.

Rotarians are People of Action. Rotary is where neighbors, friends, and problem solvers share ideas, join leaders, and take action to create lasting change. We connect people.

Rotary unites more than one million people around the world to ‘do good in the world.’ We transform communities. We take action locally and globally. Over 16 million volunteer hours each year. We solve problems. No challenge is too big for us.

Over 2.5 billion children immunized against polio.
